Dear Friends, thanks for visiting us in cyberspace!
De La Salle High School, sponsored by the Brothers of the Christian Schools (De La Salle Christian Brothers), is a community of learning where faith is discovered, integrity is lived, and scholarship is pursued. Our Catholic, Lasallian, college preparatory school is a vibrant and vital place where young men are mentored by Lasallian educators --- Brothers and the lay men and women who are their Partners-in-Mission. Each of our faculty and staff has the heart of a servant and works every day to love, guide, and instruct the young people entrusted to our care in an atmosphere that is moral, caring, and joyful.
Each day we challenge the intellect, creativity, and imagination of our students. We seek to stimulate their thinking, touch their hearts, and tend their souls. We do so in a community that is inclusive of many kinds of students and families. We gather together in a brotherhood of young men those of varied academic, socio-economic, racial, and ethnic backgrounds. Our service to the Catholic families in our area is complemented by our outreach and welcome to those of different religious traditions. Our welcome is deep and real as we seek to provide the best in contemporary, rigorous, Catholic education to over 1,000 young men each year.
When a young man enrolls at De La Salle High School he has before him a wide array of academic offerings, programs in religious and moral development, and opportunities to pursue interests in sports, as well as artistic and social activities. He is also invited, indeed strongly encouraged, to contribute to the good of others, especially the poor, through service events. We are committed to excellence in all that we do with and for our students. We pursue that excellence in a continuing partnership with parents as the primary educators of their young men.
It is a great joy for me as Principal to see young men learning, stretching, and growing each day on our campus. I am also moved when I see how our boys respond to the invitation to be brothers to each other and take up our challenge to become leaders and servants in an ever-changing world. These are the kinds of outcomes envisioned by Saint John Baptist de La Salle in France over 330 years ago when he founded a small community of Brothers that has grown into an international network of schools and educators serving in almost 1,000 schools in 80 countries. With 6,000 Brothers and over 80,000 Lasallian Partners serving over 900,000 students and their families worldwide, we continue as a Lasallian Family to look ahead to how we may best serve the young people entrusted to our care. We who serve in Concord are especially glad to have the opportunity to do so at De La Salle High School.
We invite you to catch our spirit of excellence by further exploring this website.
God Bless!
Brother Robert J. Wickman, F.S.C.
