The athletic department, guided by the traditions of the Christian Schools and the charism of Saint John Baptist de la Salle, founder of the Brothers and Patron of Teachers, is committed to providing a well-rounded program.

The Athletic Department provides the student-athletes with a program that is not only physically challenging, but one that further promotes the spiritual and academic values of Saint John Baptist de la Salle.

The Athletic Department recognizes and fosters the development of commitment, brotherhood, and sportsmanship, and instills in all the student-athletes sense of pride and achievement.

Tennis Team Begins NCS Bid with a Win

Here's an account of De La Salle's first-round NCS victory over Campolindo (5-2) by coach James Puccetti:
Day one of the NCS Team Competition concluded yesterday for the top 16 tennis programs in the section. The DLS Spartans hosted the Campolindo Cougars in an exciting matchup at ClubSport Valley Vista. De La Salle, the 2008 BVAL champions, started off the day very strong. Singles players Chris Kipouras and Dominic Venturino cruised to straight set victories. Doubles teams of Niromal Perera/Nick Romolino and Robbie Brueheim/Brent Bode also defeated the Cougars in straight sets....

Spartans to Host Baseball Showdown

The Spartans are proud to host the second annual Dave Stewart / Oakland A's High School Baseball Showdown. It's a great opportunity to spend the day at McAfee Coliseum and watch some talented Northern California teams. Proceeds from the event will go towards youth baseball programs in inner city Oakland. Three games will be played on Saturday, April 26th, with the Spartans taking on St. Mary's of Stockton in the evening game. One ticket...

 
Spartan Alum Takes WCC Golf Title

University of San Diego junior Jake Yount '05 won the individual title at the West Coast Conference Championships on the second hole of a sudden death playoff. Even better, the USD golf team took home their first title since 1980. Go here for the full story.

DLS Golf Invitational a Big Success

The varsity golf team made the best of home-course local knowledge to post a 6 stroke team victory over second place Christian Brothers of Sacramento at this year's De La Salle Invitational. Individual medalist honors went to Spartan Andrew Haggen who shot 71 and prevailed in a 4-hole playoff over San Ramon's Cole Pickavance.
