2012-13 Season NorCal Championships 3/12/13 - Host Pleasant Grove (26-6) opened a 20-10 lead after the first quarter and never looked back, beating the Spartans in the Division I regional semifinals. Pleasant Grove, the #2 seed, will play #1 seed Deer Valley for the NorCal Championship. The Spartans end their season as EBAL Champions (13-1) with an overall season record of 26-5. ***** North Coast Section Championships 2/27/13 - The Deer Valley basketball team fought off foul trouble and De La Salle's patented lockdown defense to rally for a 51-48 victory in Wednesday's North Coast Section Division I basketball semifinal. Pitts led De La Salle with 15 points. The UNLV-bound Smith led the Wolverines with 18 points and Lee finished with 14 points and 16 rebounds ***** East Bay Athletic League Championship Basketball coach Frank Allocco earned his 600th career win with a 64-29 victory over visiting Livermore. Allocco, 59, has a 600-83 career record as a varsity coach. His first 167 wins came at Northgate (1991-1997), where he won a state championship in 1995 and a Northern California title in 1996. He has 433 wins at De La Salle (1997-present), including state championships in 2000 and 2006 and NorCal titles in 2004 and 2011.
