05/30/2008 - Seniors Graduate in Style
The Quad was packed on Sunday afternoon with parents, friends, siblings and loved ones attending the graduation ceremony for the class of 2008. The salutatorian and valedictorian reminisced about their four years as Spartan students, while also looking to the challenges ahead. After the distinguished awards were presented, the main event began. Each senior's name was called, and one-by-one, they met Br. Chris at center stage to receive their much coveted and hard-earned diplomas. As they were reminded at the senior breakfast, this is not the end of their time here at De La Salle, but the beginning of their time as Spartan alumni who will carry on the tradition of the Brotherhood wherever they go. They will be missed but not forgotten, and hopefully we will see them back on campus in the years to come. Good luck graduates--you deserve it!

05/01/2008 - A Fellow Spartan Falls
The De La Salle community reacted with a great sense of sadness upon hearing of the tragic death of Spartan alumnus, Senior Airman Jonathan Yelner '02. Jonathan was killed in Afghanistan in the line of duty with his unit, the 28th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron at Ellsworth Air Force Base in South Dakota. A wreath with Jonathan's picture was placed next to the cross in the inner court as a memorial to a fallen brother. There are stories here and here. He will be greatly missed.
