11/7/12 - NCS Water Polo Semi Finals - San Ramon Valley scored three quick goals early in the first period and held that lead throughout the contest. The Wolves improved their advantage by six goals (12-6) later in the match, but the Spartans slowly came back reducing the difference to just three goals. However, the rally was cut short as time ran out and San Ramon Valley earned a hard fought 14-11 victory over De La Salle and will advance to the NCS Finals against #1 seed Miramonte.

11/3/12 - The Water Polo team had victories in the first two NCS playoff matches, beating Mission San Jose, 23-9, and Sir Francis Drake, 15-10. In the Championship Series Semi Final, the Spartans will face EBAL opponent San Ramon Valley. The teams have faced each other twice this season in close contests; SR Valley winning one and De La Salle winning the other.


10/25/12 - The Spartan Water Polo Team completed their EBAL season by defeating California, 21-6, and finishing with a perfect 7-0 record and the league championship. De La Salle wasted no time and took a 8-3 halftime lead, then dominated in the second half, outscoring the Grizzles 13-3 for the victory. The Spartans will now compete in the NCS playoffs, starting on November 1st.

10/13/12 - In the first of two matches, DLS battled Jesuit to a 3-3 half time score; but the Spartan Water Polo Team outscored Jesuit 10-4 in the second half for a 13-7 victory. Later that day, DLS cruised to a 13-3 half time score, and ultimately beat Rio American 23-9 for the Saturday sweep, improving their overall record to 14-5.


10/4/12 - The Spartans erupted for four goals in the final period to beat San Ramon Valley 9-6. Colin Chiapello led the Spartans with three goals, and Owen Shackleton's skip shot with 5 minutes, 55 seconds left broke a 5-5 tie and gave De La Salle the lead for good. The Spartans sit alone atop the EBAL standings, while the Wolves fall to second. (full story)

9/15/12 - The water polo team finished 5th in the Scott Roche Invitational, winning 3 out 4 matches. The Spartans beat Palo Alto (16-7), Menlo Atherton (10-9), and Sir Francis Drake (13-9) in the 5th place game; their only loss was to El Camino, 8-7.9/13/12 - In their season opening EBAL match, the Spartans defeated Foothill 18-11. De La Salle had eight different team members putting the ball in the net, with Tucker Angelo leading the way with 6 goals.
