In support of the school’s Lasallian mission, De La Salle is
committed to promoting positive social relations within a diverse group of
students and to building a healthy school environment that consists of
respectful and culturally sensitive interactions between students and between
students and faculty.
De La Salle works to create an inclusive Catholic
educational program and pedagogy that fosters respect for others, appreciation
of individual, cultural and socioeconomic differences, and commitment to social
responsibility, equity, and justice.
De La Salle values and recognizes that the
many expressions of diversity add to the school community. We therefore work to
ensure the inclusion of these identities in the culture of the school as a
major component in preparing our students to be active participants and
positive contributors to society.
The Diversity program is coordinated by Ms. Dina Levi.
Diversity is celebrated at De La Salle through both curricular and co-curricular activities. Affinity groups are an essential component to the De La Salle community. They allow students who share similar backgrounds to come together to discuss their experiences, while providing an outlet for all students to engage in conversations surrounding issues facing under-represented students. Under the leadership of the Diversity Coordinator, De La Salle has incorporated curricular and co-curricular activities into the community.
