De La Salle Junior Selected to Represent the Philippines at Southeast Asian Games

De La Salle Junior Selected to Represent the Philippines at Southeast Asian Games

Jaden Dumdumaya '24 has just achieved yet another huge golfing accomplishment. Following his third-place finish at the 2023 National Stroke Play Championship in the Philippines last week, he will now represent the Philippines at the Southeast Asian Games in Cambodia in May.

Jaden was the only junior golfer who made the Top 5 in the National Stroke Play Championship and faced a field of national team players, college players in the US NCAA, as well as junior golf champions and club regulars. Undeterred, he survived difficult conditions with the best round of the day on the first day of four, which made him the clubhouse leader that day. On day three, Jaden claimed scoring honors once again with a one-over 72 capped by birdies on the 16th and 17th. By the end of the championship, Jaden was just one stroke shy of second place.

“Jaden is a phenomenal golfer, and we couldn’t be happier for him,” said Jim Collins, Head Golf Coach at De La Salle High School. “He is a testament to hard work, dedication, and focus and I know he and his family are thrilled that he will be representing the Philippines at the upcoming SEA Games.”
