Over the last week, compounding our challenges with embarking on a full distance learning model and the inherent tech issues/outages that crop up, our community has been also been dealing with the impact and threats of power outages due to the excessive heat, and now the fires have caused a number of our families to be threatened with evacuations or to be displaced from their homes.
Our thoughts and prayers are with those in our community who are directly impacted. As situations continue to evolve, we wanted to remind you of a couple of avenues of communication and updates:
Schoology Outages/Tech Difficulties
As students around the globe embark on distance learning, we are seeing some occasional outages for systems like Schoology and Google. We’ve asked faculty and students to bookmark and check the Schoology Status Monitor regularly. Understand that Schoology and Google are cloud-based systems, so we cannot respond to outages except to wait for the issue to resolve. Teachers will be understanding and also don’t have access when there is an outage. For any other tech-based difficulties, please feel free to reach out to our Technology Department: email@example.com or via phone: (925) 288-8163
Outages and Evacuations
Given the proliferation of power outages and/or emergency evacuations, if your family experiences either that would impact your students’ ability to attend virtual classes, please do the following:
- Contact the school’s Attendance Office at (925) 288-8222 as soon as possible.
- Reach out to your student’s Counselor, who can facilitate communication with your son’s teacher.
