60th Anniversary
In 2025, De La Salle High School proudly marks its 60th anniversary—six decades of forming young men of faith, scholarship, service, and leadership in Concord, California.
Founded in 1965 by the Christian Brothers, De La Salle has grown into a nationally recognized Lasallian Catholic institution. Each year, over 1,000 students benefit from a rigorous academic program rooted in our core values. Nearly 100% of graduates continue on to college, prepared to lead with character and conviction.
From our motto, Les Hommes De Foi ("Men of Faith"), to our recently launched House System, community and belonging are central to campus life. The 20-acre campus features the STREAM Innovation Center, state-of-the-art athletic facilities, and dynamic spaces for learning and collaboration.
Our athletic tradition—led by the legendary Coach Bob Ladouceur and the historic 151-game football winning streak—has earned national recognition. With 292 league titles and six national championships, Spartan excellence extends far beyond the classroom.
Now in the third year of our most ambitious academic expansion, De La Salle remains at the forefront of innovation in Catholic education.
As we celebrate this milestone, we honor our past and look boldly to the future—committed to forming the next generation of leaders, scholars, and men of faith.
Throughout the year, we will be sharing 60 unique stories—from reflections on the school’s founding days, to personal experiences from faculty, staff and alumni, to the traditions that continue to shape the Spartan spirit today. Each story adds another layer to our history and reminds us of the lasting impact of a De La Salle education.

“Sixty years is more than an anniversary—it’s a testament to a mission lived and renewed,” says President David Holquin. “Our legacy continues through the lives of students who go on to transform their communities and the world.”
