More Than a Streak: A Standard of Excellence Built on Accountability
More Than a Streak: A Standard of Excellence Built on Accountability
From 1992 through 2004, in the heart of Concord, something extraordinary took hold that few could have imagined. The football team at the all-boys Catholic high school De La Salle established a standard that the rest of high school football in America continues to chase.
For more than a decade, 12 undefeated seasons to be exact, the perfect effort was not the aspiration; it was the expectation. This documentary, part of De La Salle’s 60 for 60 storytelling campaign, brings to life one of the most extraordinary runs in sports history through the voices of those who built it and lived it.
Under the steady leadership of Bob Ladouceur, a group of young men began a journey in the fall of 1992 that would defy logic, expectation, and history itself. Game after game. Season after season. Different players. Same result.
One hundred fifty-one consecutive wins, a streak unmatched in the history of American high school sports.
But this is not just a story about winning. It is a story about discipline, brotherhood, and a culture built on something deeper than the scoreboard. Behind every victory was a commitment to something greater. The identity of “The Streak” was forged in humility, accountability, and the relentless pursuit of excellence.
At De La Salle High School, victory became more than a goal; it became a way of life.
We hope you enjoy this documentary about how a team became a dynasty, and how a streak became a legend, told through the voices of Bob Ladouceur, Patrick Walsh ’93, Justin Alumbaugh ’98, and Matt Gutierrez ’02.
