2024 Fall Union “Helping Others” Available Now

The De La Salle 2024 Fall Union Magazine – Helping Others is on its way to mailboxes, but you can preview it now on the De La Salle Website (dlshs.org/union).

This latest edition showcases the many ways that Spartans embrace the Lasallian charism: "Enter to Learn, Leave to Serve." It highlights how De La Salle students, alumni, and staff consistently engage with the local community — through organized service projects, everyday acts of kindness, and career choices.

Featured stories include a commencement review for the Class of 2024, an overview of how De La Salle alumni have made their careers about helping others, a look at how Service Leadership went from a club to a dedicated class, a Q&A with Spanish Teacher, Alicia Mallque, excerpts from a selection of Senior Syntheses, a profile of the Healing Spaces Club,  and an article about how even a random act of kindness can be considered a service. Additional stories include a feature on Scott Drain ’94, the 2023-24 Lasallian Educator of the Year, and an overview of retirees and new faculty/staff additions for this year. There are also updates about the Athletic Hall of Fame Class of 2024 and the 2023-24 sports season.

The fall issue of Union also serves as our annual report, and we would be remiss if we didn’t thank those in our Spartan community who answered the call to support our young men, staff, and programs.

De La Salle is a special place because of the people who are a part of this magnificent enterprise, and we never take for granted that we move and work on very hallowed grounds. May the stories you read inspire you to share your own story with us! We’d love to hear from you: DLSCommunciations@dlshs.org.

De La Salle’s Union Magazine continues to provide a glimpse into daily life here on campus and our Mission to produce Men of Faith, Integrity, and Scholarship.
