Noah Wilson to Attend Boys & Girls State California Conference
Concord, Calif. - De La Salle High School junior Noah Wilson has been chosen to participate in this summer’s American Legion California Boys & Girls State Program (formerly Boys State). Noah was selected as one of six juniors from four local high schools to participate in the conference as a representative of the Pleasant Hill delegation. He secured his place after submitting an application and then interviewing with American Legion members of Post 331.
Boys & Girls State is among the most respected and selective educational programs of government instruction for U.S. high-school students. A participatory program in which students become part of local, county, and state government operations, Boys State was founded in 1935 to counter the socialism-inspired Young Pioneer Camps. The conference offers a hands-on, realistic experience in civic responsibility to juniors before entering their senior year of high school.
