Twelfth Night tells the story of Viola, a noblewoman who has lost her brother, Sebastian, and almost lost her life in a shipwreck. Viola dresses as a man in order to work for Duke Orsino, with whom she falls hopelessly in love. Orsino is in turn in love with Countess Olivia and sends Viola to court her for him, but Olivia falls for Viola instead. Olivia’s servant Maria hatches a plot with Olivia’s cousin Sir Toby and her would-be suitor Sir Andrew to convince Olivia’s dour butler, Malvolio, that Olivia is secretly in love with him. This causes Malvolio to make a fool of himself in public. But how do they know when things have gone too far?

Twelfth Night is about balancing light and dark, joy and sorrow. A comedy of cross-dressing and wild pranks with a seemingly impossible love triangle, Twelfth Night will have you laughing and sighing in equal measure.

The unsuspecting residents of Sunset Towers are summoned to the reading of a mysterious will, only to find themselves locked in a thrilling game, as they must discover who is responsible for killing an eccentric millionaire. They will form unlikely alliances. Only one is a thief, one is a bomber and one is a mistake. The only people who hold all the clues are one Westing heir and you. Yes, you. Throughout this main stage production you will recognize several games you have played as the set comes to life, and hidden in plain sight is your very own clue to solve the puzzle. Two strong ensembles will be presenting The Westing Game on different evenings, so be sure to check them both out. The game is on!

Summary: Xanadu follows the journey of a magical and beautiful Greek muse, Kira, who descends from the heavens of Mount Olympus to Venice Beach, California in 1980 on a quest to inspire a struggling artist, Sonny, to achieve the greatest artistic creation of all time - the first ROLLER DISCO! (Hey, it's 1980) But, when Kira falls into forbidden love with the mortal Sonny, her jealous sisters take advantage of the situation, and chaos abounds.

Summary: R & J & Z (Romeo & Juliet & ZOMBIES) haunted the stage at De La Salle from October 27 - Nov 5, 2022. The famous lovers navigated a world in which death is not necessarily the end.  

What if Romeo and Juliet got a second chance? R & J & Z begins with Act V of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet and keeps going, as the famous lovers navigate a world in which death isn't necessarily the end. Set against the historical backdrop of Verona's plague, Melody Bates’ new-verse play throws old and new characters together over the course of an apocalyptic and action-packed 24 hours. Equally inspired by Shakespeare and modern zombie films, R & J & Z pushes the boundaries of theatrical humor and horror. 

Summary:
A group of disciples helps Jesus Christ tell different parables by using a wide variety of games, storytelling techniques, and a hefty dose of comic timing. An eclectic blend of songs, ranging in style from pop to vaudeville, are employed as the story of Jesus' life dances across the stage. Dissolving hauntingly into the Last Supper and the Crucifixion, Jesus' messages of kindness, tolerance, and love come vibrantly to life.

Summary: Based on the classic 1989 film, Westerberg High is ruled by a shoulder-padded, scrunchie-wearing junta: Heather, Heather and Heather, the hottest and cruelest girls in all of Ohio. But misfit Veronica Sawyer rejects their evil regime for a new boyfriend, the dark and sexy stranger J.D., who plans to put the Heathers in their place - six feet under.

Note from De La Salle: Although the teen version removes most of the hot-button material like four-letter words, and references to adolescent smoking, drinking, and fooling around, what is left is teens trying to be cruel to each other, trying to hurt each other, or trying to be kind to each other.  Watching 15-18-year-olds performing on the stage will create both an exciting and scary reality. A veil will be removed while you watch students perform the actual truth of the show. It will be more intense to experience body-shaming, talk of suicide, and bullying out of the mouths of those we try to protect. Our purpose in highlighting these issues is to encourage dialogue among students and our community. For this production,  Theatre Company is partnering with our Student Support Services department and outside mental health advocates to support our community as it grapples with these tough issues. This is a continuation of work we’ve been doing in these areas already.

"Puffs" was used to raise awareness to the needs of those without homes and/or basic needs. Company accepted donations of NEW socks for St. Anthony’s in San Francisco.

Summary: For seven years a certain boy wizard went to a certain Wizard School and conquered evil. This, however, is not his story. This is the story of the Puffs, who just happened to be there too. A tale for anyone who has never been destined to save the world, Puffs: or Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic and Magic is the Off-Broadway comedy by Matt Cox that follows a group of well-meaning magical misfits during the times of that certain boy wizard. Discover the hilarious and untold story of the “losers” who embrace being badgers and strive to be “third or nothing!”

Summary: This production was designed, blocked and constructed in under two weeks. Actors will arrived on August 2 fully memorized and the cast and crew staged the entire show that day. Company, which will add set and tech elements during the next meetings, has never done anything quite like this – Black Box Style – before.

Audiences can expect minimal set design and are called upon to fully engage their imagination. Because there was no singing last year, the De La Salle/Carondelet Theatre Company added this production to allow our vocal artists to maximize their talents and give their best effort to each other and to the community.
