De La Salle has a rich history in athletics. Many know our name from the fame we garnered during our 151-game football winning streak under the watchful eye of Coach Bob Ladouceur. However, we’ve been a force of nature across all of our athletic programs for many years. In total, our athletic teams have collected 285 league titles, 193 North Coast Section (NCS) championships, 19 Northern California championships, 25 CIF State Championships, and six national titles.
Our players go on to have highly successful collegiate careers, as well as professional sports careers in Major League Soccer, the National Football League, Major League Baseball, and the National Basketball Association to name a few. We have even had former student-athletes compete in U.S. Championships, on national teams, and at the Olympics.
Yet our athletics program is more than just a sports platform; it embodies a profound sense of brotherhood and family. Rooted in a rich tradition that spans decades, our program fosters a strong sense of camaraderie among our student-athletes, coaches, and supporters. As soon as our students step onto the playing field, they become part of a tight-knit community. One that is united by a shared passion for sports and the values that we uphold. Brotherhood is at the core of every team. Athletes learn to support and encourage each other, both on and off the field, and they forge lifelong bonds that extend beyond graduation.
The success that we have had comes from unwavering commitment and dedication. With a strong emphasis on hard work, discipline, and perseverance, student-athletes learn the value of pushing their limits and striving for excellence. Our coaches play a crucial role in instilling these values, serving as mentors and role models - guiding students to become not just better athletes, but better individuals. This commitment to personal growth and development cultivates a deep sense of pride and loyalty within the De La Salle athletics community and helps set us apart from other high school programs.
