Hall of Fame
The tradition of excellence established by our Spartan brothers, both as students and as alumni, continues to grow and deepen. At the De La Salle Athletic Hall of Fame, we induct into the Athletic Hall of Fame a new class of great student-athletes who have grown into fine men. The honorees have demonstrated not just talent and skill, but a work ethic, a sense of responsibility, and a spirit of brotherhood in their student years and since.
On Sunday, October 23, 2022, De La Salle High School inducted the Class of 2022 into its Athletic Hall of Fame in the Hofmann Student Center.
The Class of 2002 included individuals Kevin Bacharach ’03 (swimming & diving and water polo), Atari Callen ’99 (football and track & field), A.J. Kuhle ’00 (basketball), Chase Wheeler ’09 (track & field and football), and Chris Wondolowski ’01 (soccer and track & field), and coaches Steve Guthrie (swimming & diving) and Robert O’Meara (lacrosse).
In addition to the individual inductees, the 2007 Football and 2009 Soccer teams were also inducted into the 14th Hall of Fame class for the distinguished athletic program. Kent Mercer '87 was also honored at the event as the 2022 Distinguished Alumnus of the Year.
“De La Salle has a rich and diverse sports history that is rooted in excellence,” said Leo Lopoz, Vice President for Athletics at De La Salle. “This year’s inductees to our Athletic Hall of Fame demonstrate the breadth of what can be achieved through hard work, dedication, and community.”
