Rugby

The De La Salle rugby program was founded in 2003 and has continued to offer our student-athletes the ability to compete in a sport that rewards character above all else. The ‘Spirit of our Game’ is one that emphasizes respect for the referee, your coach, teammates and opponents. Without them there would be no game. Sportsmanship and community are vital rugby values and it is never better on display than when opponents share a meal after each match.

Over the years, the De La Salle rugby program has watched many of its players go on to play at the collegiate and international level. We’ve seen multiple players compete in College National Championship games for Cal, St. Mary’s, and most recently West Point. We’ve also witnessed Spartans represent the Red, White, and Blue for the USA Eagles, and it appears we have more players in the pipeline that will represent their country in the future.

The De La Salle rugby team has won multiple league titles, two state titles, and finished the 2022 season as the #1 ranked high school rugby team in the entire country.  As the program looks to enter its 20th season, we will continue to build on the values that guide us each and every year.  Faith, Integrity, Perseverance, and Brotherhood.
