Track & Field

The Track and Field program has seen great athletes come through year after year to compete at the section and state levels. Dating back to 1976, the track and field program has won 25 league championships. The Spartans have also won 12 section championships and four NCS Meet of Champions. Since 2007, the track and field program has had 14 top-10 individual finishes in the CIF State Meet, in a variety of different events. This includes three champions with Marquis Morris winning the 110 Hurdles in 2013 and the 300 Hurdles in 2014 and Chase Wheeler winning the Long Jump in 2009. At last year’s state meet, Chukwunonso Udeh took 2nd place in the High Jump and Anthony Trucks took 7th place in the 110 Hurdles.

Track and Field is a no-cut sport and all Spartan student-athletes are welcome to participate. The program develops athletes on the track but also works hard in the weight room to develop strength. The program’s success over the years is fueled by hard work and commitment to the details of form and technique.
