There was a time when tuition covered the full cost of a De La Salle education, but that is not the case today. In fact, there is more than a $3,462 gap in tuition per student that will be made up through private support from parents, alumni, alumni parents and friends of De La Salle. Tuition and voluntary giving are the two most significant sources of financial support for the School.

The De La Salle Annual Fund is the cornerstone of all fundraising at our school, and it is the “every year” gift we ask our entire school community to contribute. The Annual Fund has become an essential investment in funding a De La Salle education, and we expect all families to participate in this program at a level commensurate with their financial capacity.

Support from parents, alumni, grandparents, faculty, staff, and friends helps keep tuition affordable while maintaining and strengthening the breadth of academic and co-curricular programs at De La Salle. 

We expect all parents to make an annual gift to De La Salle that matches each person’s ability to give. Participation is vital as a high participation rate helps secure grants from major donors and foundations that support Catholic and independent schools. Families who qualify or receive serious consideration for financial aid will be asked to make a pledge commensurate with their particular financial situation.

That said, we encourage families to make a minimum tax-deductible, annual pledge of $1,965 per year, when possible, to help bridge the gap between tuition and the actual cost of educating each student. Gifts at this level qualify for membership in the 1965 Club. As members of the 1965 Club, you will receive invitations to our annual 1965 Club Reception as well as other special event invitations and communications throughout the year from the President. 

True to our Lasallian mission to serve varied economic backgrounds, we strive to keep tuition increases to a minimum in order to remain affordable to as many families as possible. Our Annual Fund accomplishes this goal by helping to close the gap between tuition revenue and the actual cost of educating each student, ultimately benefiting every family that walks through our doors. Additionally, gifts to De La Salle offer valuable tax benefits to the donor, whereas tuition does not.

Unlike tuition, your gifts to the De La Salle Annual Fund are 100% tax deductible to the extent allowed by the law.

Gifts to the De La Salle Annual Fund have a tremendous impact on the quality education provided to our students by preserving and strengthening the breadth of academic and co-curricular programs offered at the School. While unrestricted gifts give De La Salle the greatest flexibility to meet our school's most pressing needs, you may designate your gift to other top priorities such as faculty development, financial aid, student programs, or other areas you want to support.

If you participate in the De La Salle Annual Fund you will not be asked for another Annual Fund gift this year. However, you will be given the opportunity to contribute to special projects such as renovations or additions to the campus or specific programs to enhance the students’ educational experience.

A matching gift program is a corporate sponsored benefit that can double or even triple an employee’s gift to De La Salle by matching his or her contribution. Check with your human resources office to find out if your company has a matching gift program. Note: Matching gift companies prohibit De La Salle from using matching gifts to pay off pledges. However, matching gifts received will be credited to a donor’s overall giving.
