A Journey of Resilience, Growth, and Purpose
Growing up in Berkeley, California, Reggie always embraced responsibility and resilience. As the eldest in a single-parent household, he became a role model for his younger siblings early on, learning to navigate life’s challenges with determination and heart.
His academic journey began at Albany Elementary School, where a nurturing environment sparked his love for learning. That passion led him to De La Salle Academy, where he continued to grow academically and personally. With the unwavering support of his family and community, he developed a strong work ethic and a deep sense of purpose.
Transitioning to De La Salle High School was a natural next step. Through the Bishop Cummins Program, he found the resources and support to thrive. His time at De La Salle was marked by meaningful experiences — from the adrenaline of winning a 100-meter race in track to the inclusive community built through BSU potlucks, where students of all backgrounds came together in celebration.
Two transformative experiences stood out for him during his time on campus: the Kairos retreat, which deepened his understanding of community and connection, and the Close Up program in Washington, D.C., which broadened his worldview and ignited a passion for civic engagement. These opportunities, made possible by the Brotherhood Fund, were instrumental in shaping his aspirations.

The Brotherhood Fund also supported him in countless ways — from providing food and attire for liturgies to covering retreat fees and school supplies. It ensured that he fully embraced the De La Salle experience.
Inspired by his brother who has autism, he dreams of becoming a psychologist to support individuals with mental health challenges and neurodiverse needs. His experiences at De La Salle have given him the confidence and foundation to pursue this calling.
Grateful for the generosity of those who make his education possible, he embodied the school’s mission: to “enter to learn, leave to serve.”
His hard work and growth, made possible by the Bishop Cummins Program, culminated in a full-ride scholarship to Saint Mary’s College. Reggie's story is a testament to the transformative power of opportunity, community, and faith.
