BREADCRUMB

Junior F.S.C.

We are excited to once again give our juniors a day-long immersion experience of service and learning. After several years of partnering with St. Anthony’s in San Francisco, De La Salle's Junior Faith, Services, and Community (F.S.C.) Retreat transitioned to the Monument Crisis Center in Concord, CA in 2025. In working with the Monument Crisis Center (MCC), De La Salle students are learning valuable life skills by sharing their talents within our community, and understanding the reality of poverty and our response to the social needs of our community.

Over the course of several weeks, small groups of 11th-grade students will travel to the center where they will have the opportunity to learn more about the Monument Crisis Center, participate in service activities, and interact with the people that rely on the essential services that the MCC provides.

For more information about the Junior F.S.C. program, please reach out to Ms. Maile Shelley.

"What I felt was most prominent in my experience at the Monument Crisis Center was not only the realization of how grateful I should be but how my classmates and I all have such amazing resources at our disposal, but the ability that we have to serve and give back to others should not be lost even when our lives can get overwhelming. I believe that having this capability should make us feel compelled to spend our time and skills on others, especially when others don't get the privilege of choosing that. I feel extremely grateful for the sole reason that I am able to give back."  - Brandon '26
