Student class schedules will be completed in mid-June and communicated via email. Should you have a question about your class schedule, please contact Ms. Lillian Dickson, Director of Academic Services (dicksonl@dlshs.org).

All students should be prepared with a charged laptop, calculator (see requirements below), notebook, and pencils/pens for the first day of classes. Any course-specific supplies will be communicated by the teacher. 

• The Math Department requires graphing calculators for all students.
• Students in Algebra 1, 1A, or Honors Algebra 1, or Geometry will need a graphing calculator during the latter part of the first semester and as they move onto subsequent math classes.
• Recommended: TI-83 or TI-84 models.
• Students cannot use the TI-89, TI Inspire, or any HP or Casio calculator.

De La Salle requires students to follow grooming and appearance standards that convey a seriousness of purpose regarding their job as students while allowing for appropriate individual self-expression. 

All students are required to wear an appropriate collared shirt and shorts or pants (no athletic/athleisure/denim) free of rips, tears, and holes that have belt loops and fully conceal undergarments. Closed-toed shoes with socks are required. Flip flops, crocks, moccasins, slides, or sandals are prohibited. 

Liturgy attire is required on B-Day Mass schedules and consists of a dress shirt, tie, dress pants or khakis, and your best or dress shoes.  

The school will allow students to wear modified dress at various times throughout the year, and information regarding appropriate dress on these special days will be communicated from the Deans, who have final say on grooming and appearance. For more information, please review the "Grooming and Appearance" standards in the Student-Parent Handbook.

Credentials and login instructions for Schoology and PowerSchool, as well as student De La Salle email (through Gmail), will be communicated to parents via email on Tuesday, July 7th, via BrightArrow.

All parents are highly encouraged to sign up for attendance notifications from PowerSchool so that they are immediately notified when their son is marked absent or tardy.

A class set of textbooks will be kept in the classrooms, thereby reducing the need for screen time in class. This will also eliminate the frustration of students and teachers when a student’s book is lost or left at home.

Students will have access to ebooks or teacher-generated PDFs for home use.

All consumable books (novels that students can keep) will be distributed in the classroom.

If a student prefers a hardcopy textbook, for use at home, we will have a limited number available to rent for a nominal fee at the Spartan Bookstore. If you choose to purchase a used textbook from an outside source, visit our Textbook List webpage, which provides course/book information for all textbooks used for each course, with the title and ISBN, to make your purchase.

Mandatory Incoming Student Orientation
Wednesday, August 12, from 9 am to 3 pm

We look forward to welcoming all incoming 9th-grade and transfer students to De La Salle’s Mandatory Incoming Student Orientation on Wednesday, August 12.

Our orientation program is designed to help students feel welcomed, supported, and prepared for the transition to De La Salle. Throughout the day, students will connect with their House Mentor Group leaders, responsible, positive, and caring sophomores, juniors, and seniors who will guide them through activities and introduce them to life as a Spartan. Students will participate in a variety of large and small-group activities, meet new classmates, and become familiar with our campus and community. Please make sure to allow time for your student to check in, as we will begin Orientation promptly at 9 am.

Please drop your son off in the front parking lot and have him follow the music to the Quad, where the day will begin.

Maison Welcome and Retreat for All Students
Thursday, August 13, from 9 am to 2 pm

Maison Welcome Retreat is designed for Spartans to begin the school year grounded in Brotherhood, leadership, accountability, and personal growth. Through reflection, discussion, and four interactive experiences, students will deepen their understanding of what it means to live as Lasallian brothers committed to building a positive and connected community grounded in our core principles. A brief description of the session topics for this year's retreat are listed below.

Defining Your Legacy - How do you want to be remembered?
This session challenges students to reflect on the impact of their daily choices, relationships, and actions both on and off campus. Through the lenses of athletics, co-curricular involvement, leadership, and school culture, students will explore how legacy is not created in one defining moment, but through consistent acts of character, respect, and service to others.

Students will engage in reflection and scenario-based discussions that encourage them to consider how they contribute to a stronger, more connected community.

Building the Brotherhood - What does it truly mean to live in Brotherhood as Lasallians?
In this session, students will work collaboratively to define the behaviors and expectations that strengthen the De La Salle Brotherhood. Through presentation, discussion, and reflection, participants will identify the attitudes and actions that build trust, belonging, accountability, and respect, while also examining behaviors that weaken community.

Students will also explore how to respond when words or actions do not align with Lasallian values, emphasizing the importance of being an upstander who supports and protects the dignity of others. Together, students will help shape a culture where every person is seen, valued, supported, and challenged to live for and with others.

Owning Your Academic Excellence
A Spartan does more than just show up — he decides and commits.

This session encourages students to take ownership of their academic journey by examining the gap between where they are and where they want to be as scholars. Through interactive activities with peers and adult mentors, students will reflect on personal responsibility, habits, mindset, and accountability in the classroom.

Participants will work together to develop an “Academic Spartan Playbook” filled with individual and communal strategies for academic success. The session emphasizes that academic excellence is not about excuses or blame, but about commitment, growth, and intentional effort.

Photos and Fun
Fun is a huge part of the Spartan Experience. In this session, Spartans will have time to reconnect, build friendships, and enjoy time together as a community. Students will participate in games and activities with their peers, enjoy snacks and music, and help create a welcoming and energetic atmosphere to begin the school year.

Students will also take their official school photos for the yearbook and student ID cards. ID cards will be distributed during House Time during the first week of school.

Important Details

• Students will not have access to their phones from 9 am to 2 pm. If your son requires phone access for medical reasons, please contact shivelys@dlshs.org.
• Students must be in dress code and meet all grooming and appearance standards.
• Lunch will be provided by De La Salle free of charge.
• Campus will open at 8:30 am, and students may be dropped off beginning at that time.
• The retreat concludes at 2 pm, except for juniors and seniors who need to pick up their parking passes.

• Please do not bring a backpack or computer. All supplies will be provided.

Students are required to complete their summer reading before the first day of classes on August 14, 2026. Summer reading assignments are only for fall semester classes.

• All incoming students must complete an Online Tech Boot Camp course through Schoology. Information to access the course will be sent out to families and incoming students. The course is available from July through the opening of school and takes between 30 minutes to an hour to complete. It should be completed prior to attending our mandatory New Student Orientation on Wednesday, August 12.
   
• Students should bring their laptops for a brief Tech Check during Orientation. During Tech Check, students will pair their devices to the De La Salle Wi-Fi, add wireless printing connections to our Library printers, and troubleshoot any technical issues prior to the start of school.

BrightArrow automatically translates messages based on the “home language” listed in PowerSchool. These translations are machine-generated.

New Students to De La Salle
All new students will need to complete a Pre-Participation Physical Evaluation, which will be submitted separately to the Admissions Office at De La Salle. Parents are asked to download and print this Pre-Participation Physical Evaluation Form, to be completed by a physician during your son's physical examination. Once completed, the form should be uploaded through the Finalsite Enrollment process. If your son plans to play a sport at De La Salle, you will need to upload the completed document to Home Campus as well. 

For Athletic Participation
For the 2026-27 school year, the Athletic Department will be moving to Home Campus to submit pre-participation physicals and other forms related to athletics. Some of these forms used to be found in the online registration/enrollment process, or can be downloaded here, but will now be separate as they pertain specifically to participation in athletics.  While there will be some redundancies with the online registration process, the use of Home Campus will help make things easier for parents, student-athletes, and coaches.  For example, Home Campus will send parents an email reminding them that your son's physical is near expiration. This will help in making sure that your son does not miss any time due to his expired physical.  For our coaches, all contact and emergency information will be available through an app and can be accessed in an easier fashion.

Parents of freshmen and transfer students, you will need to continue to submit your son's pre-participation physicals through the online registration/enrollment process, but you will also need to submit it through Home Campus if your son is participating in athletics. If he is not participating in athletics, then the online registration submission is sufficient for enrollment purposes. We apologize for this redundancy, but the physicals are used for separate purposes and will need to be submitted in both places.

Students cannot receive their books or complete the Mandatory Student Orientation process until their tuition contract is completed, their enrollment deposit is received, their July tuition payment is received, and fees for lost books from the previous school year have been collected.

The Business Office will have already contacted you through Finalsite Enrollment if your financial account needs attention. Hence, there is no need to call to confirm the status of your account. Parents, please assist your son by attending to this as soon as possible.

Families with unresolved financial matters will be blocked from logging into PowerSchool (PS) and Schoology and will therefore be unable to view 2026-27 class schedules, etc. Once their account is up-to-date, they will be able to access PowerSchool and Schoology.

Sophomore Father & Son Liturgy and Brunch
Sunday, September 20, 2026, at 9:30 am

Mark your calendars for our Sophomore Class Father & Son Mass and Brunch scheduled for Sunday, September 20, 2026. This is an opportunity for fathers (and father-figures) to join their sons for a morning of prayer followed by a casual brunch in the Hofmann Center afterwards, where we will also have football playing on the big screens! Mass will begin at 9:30 am in the Theatre, followed by a brunch in the Hofmann Center. The cost is $20 per family. Liturgy attire is NOT required, but please wear a polo/button-down shirt and nice shorts/pants.

Junior Mass of Unity
Sunday, October 18, 2026, at 9:30 am

Junior students and their families are encouraged to attend the Junior Mass of Unity and Ring Ceremony on October 18. This special liturgy for the class of 2028 unites them as the boys receive their De La Salle High School class ring. Mass will begin at 9:30 am in the Hofmann Center. There is no cost for this event, but families are asked to RSVP if they plan to attend this liturgy. 

Ring orders were placed this past spring. Stay tuned for a ring payment day during lunch when we return to school in August. If your family did not purchase a ring for your junior son, no worries, a special gift will be given to all boys in attendance.

Campus Ministry is an integral part of student life at De La Salle. Through liturgies, immersion programs, retreats, faith groups, and participation in the Lasallian Youth, students are able to emulate the life and deeds of our Founder in service, faith, and community.

Campus Ministry has prepared many opportunities for your sons to experience the De La Salle brotherhood and a vital faith life. We strongly encourage you to sign up for the retreats that fill up fast, especially the Kairos (Senior) Retreat, Father & Son Retreat, and Parent  & Son Retreat.

You might also want to begin thinking about your sons participating in one or both of the VENAVER (Come and See) Immersion programs. De La Salle students will return to Blackfeet Nation in Browning, Montana, from September 19-26. You may search via area code to find other De La Salle families who have shared their contact information if you wish to organize/coordinate your own carpools.

The De La Salle High School directory, and all of the personal information in it, is solely for personal use by families of current students of the school. It is not to be shared with other individuals, organizations, or businesses.

We encourage families to connect and coordinate rides to and from campus through the use of the directory. To add the calendar to Google Calendar or iCal, click the third button (RSS). Then, select the 2026–27 calendar, copy the provided link, and paste it into your calendar app to subscribe.

Student locker numbers and combinations:

• To access your Locker combination from your phone, use a web browser and go to www.wintondrivedistrict.org/public.

• Log in to your PowerSchool account on a webpage (not a cell phone), from the left panel, select the Grades and Attendance tab, and scroll to the bottom to see your locker information.

Locks for PE / Sports

• Gym locks are available for sale in the Spartan Store ($5).
• ONLY locks purchased at the Spartan Store may be used on gym lockers.
• Lockers are only available for athletes during their season.

There are many ways to communicate with teachers electronically, such as through PowerSchool, Schoology, and Google accounts. All students have these accounts and should use them regularly. New students will learn how to access and use them during the Online Tech Boot Camp.

Student Parking Permit Guidelines:

• Priority is given to seniors on campus
• Overflow parking for seniors/juniors is available at the Church of the Latter-Day Saints on Treat Blvd., allocated by our De La Salle lottery
• Sophomores are not permitted to park on campus or at the overflow site
• Student Parking Permits cost $175
• Abuse of assigned parking may result in loss of privilege and vehicles being towed at the owner’s expense

Application Process:

• De La Salle High School is now accepting parking permit applications online for juniors and seniors with a valid driver’s license
• The parking permit fee is $175. Parking applications will be available on June 5 and are due by July 31st 
• Please log in to your Finalsite Enrollment portal here to complete the application. The application is an optional item at the bottom of your enrollment checklist
• Passes are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. Applications turned in after July 31st will only be honored if space is available and at the Dean's discretion
• Students who receive a spot can pick up their pass on Orientation Day (August 13) - Students must have their valid driver’s license with them to receive their parking pass.

The De La Salle Student Support Services office provides students and parents with the availability of professional counselors. Counseling sessions are offered to students and parents to assist with any academic, social, emotional, relationship, or family matter.

Counselors can assist students and parents with clarifying problems, defining alternative choices in situations, and providing information that may affect the situation. Counselors do not make decisions for either students or parents nor are they responsible for changing class schedules or making decisions on disciplinary matters.

Counselors act as supportive advocates for students and parents and are available to help with any situation presented to them.
