OnBoard!

OnBoard! is an orientation program designed to welcome and support incoming 9th grade and transfer students by connecting them with responsible leaders and other students to support them as they make the transition to De La Salle. It was created during the pandemic as a way to help new students bond with our high school during remote learning.

Since that time the program has flourished. Each year we train and empower existing students to serve as "big brothers" in a peer-mentor model for orientation. Our OnBoard! leaders are responsible, positive, and caring 11th and 12th graders who are prepared to teach and model the values and behavior that we expect as a school. They engage with our freshmen students throughout the year in a variety of large and small group activities that help the new students learn all about what it means to be a Spartan. Currently we have more than 80 OnBoard! leaders participating in the program.
